		<description>Thanks for the tips Sophie.  I wrote this article quite a while ago when this blog was just starting out.  Your comment has prompted me to look back at it and I feel I could do a much better job now that I have more blogging experience behind me. Walking on pavements in poor footwear, as many city workers do, can take its toll on feet and shins. There are also strengthening exercises that you can do to prevent injury - for example toe raises to prevent &quot;shin splints&quot;.</description>
